The following USENET message was posted by an anonymous user named
'Mickey' via the remailer network. Given what happened to me after I
posted a critique of the Evidence Eliminator people and their sales
tactics, I can understand why he wants to remain anonymous:

Please understand, I was not impugning you, or trying to relate you to any
of the groups EE targets with their ads. I understand your position. There
is a sig someone used that I really like - "Even if you have nothing to
hide, it's YOUR nothing."
Your examples make good points, however. There are a lot of things and
activities that, while legal, aren't for public consumption.
But EE is a poor implementation of a good idea, marketed by a strange,
twisted little company run by strange deceitful little trolls. You're
better off without them.

Get Eraser, http://www.tolvanen.com/eraser/. Price: Free.
Does complete wipes, per Guttman standard. Wipes cluster tips, wipes
filenames, wipes freespace.
Get Scramdisk (Free) http://www.samsimpson.com/scramdisk.php
or BestCrypt ($89.95,, but worth EVERY penny) http://www.jetico.com/ for
on-the-fly encrypted disks.
Get and use PGP 6.5.8.
That should get you started, anyway.

I especially like his conclusion: "EE is a poor implementation of a good idea, marketed by a strange,
twisted little company run by strange deceitful little trolls. You're
better off without them." What can I say that would be more accurate than
that?!
